Our Journey

Thirty years, one campus at a time. From a single drop hammer in 1996 to a 3,150-tonne press line, a foundry, a 70-machine CNC plant and a testing laboratory — each step paid for by the one before it.

1996

One hammer

Sarita Forgings begins in Ludhiana with a single 3-tonne drop hammer, founded by Mr Anil Jain.

1998

The first railway order

An 6 November 1998 order arrives from Indian Railways. It is the relationship that shapes everything since.

2002

A second hammer

A 2-tonne drop hammer is added, widening the range of components the shop can forge.

2006

First Defence Enter

Supply begins to Indian defence programmes under a quality regime that would shape how the company works for the next twenty years.

2007

The first CNC machine

The decision that turns a forging shop into a components manufacturer. Until now parts have left as forgings. From here they leave finished.

2010

A Third Hammer

A 4-tonne drop hammer takes the forging range to its present limit of 130 kg.

2014

A machine shop of our own

A dedicated machining workshop opens with three CNC lathes and two vertical machining centres.

2016

Horizontal machining

The horizontal machining centres are added, bringing prismatic components in-house.

2017

The foundry and a public company

A cast and SG iron foundry opens — a second manufacturing vertical alongside forging — and the company converts to a public limited company.

2019

A second furnace

Casting capacity doubles with the installation of a second induction furnace.

2021

The new works

Twenty thousand square yards of new land brings 60+ machining centres and testing lab under one roof.

2025

Land for the press

A further twenty-thousand square yards is acquired for a dedicated press forging plant.

June 2026

Three thousand one hundred and fifty tonnes

The screw press line is commissioned on 1 June — closed-die, near-net-shape forging with induction billet heating and in-line trimming.

2026

Our Capacity and power

  • The largest casting furnace yet, taking single-piece castings to 700 kg in both steel and SG iron.
  • A new heat treatment plant that will lift capacity to 1,000 tonnes a month.
  • 1.25 MW of solar generation on site.
